Wayne County, NC - Will of Dicy Ham, 1822

In the name of God Amen I DICY HAM of the County of Wayne and the State
of North Carolina being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make 
and ordain this as my last Will and Testament.
In primes I give and beath (sic) to my son JORDAN HAM my _____ filly 
now called his one bed bedstead & furniture to him his executors 
administrators and assigns forever.
ITEM  I give and bequeath to my son HIRAM HAM all my right and title in 
and to one negro that is coming to me out of the estate of ERASTUS HAM 
dec' one feather bed, bedstead and furniture, & one cow and calf to him 
his executors administrators & assigns forever.
ITEM  I give and bequeath to my son ERASTUS HAM a bed & furniture & 
bed-stead and one cow & calf to him his executors administrators & 
assigns forever.
ITEM  I give & bequeath to my daughter ELINOR HAM her choice of my 
feather beds, bedsteads & furniture with my Calico Curtains, also her 
choice of my charts & my loom slay gear & harness & one cow and calf to 
her, her executors administrators & assigns forever.
ITEM  I give & devise to my four children above named all the residue 
of my estate of every kind of what I may die seized, and it is my will 
and desire & I do expressly direct that if either of them shall die 
without leaving issue of their body lawfully begotten that the 
survivors of these four children shall have the property to which the 
deceased is in titled under this will to be equally devided among them 
to them their executors administrators & assigns forever.
ITEM  I nominate & appoint HENRY ROBERTS & WILLIS PEEL as Executors to
this my last Will & Testament & revoke all other wills by me heretofore 
made.
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 20th day of
November 1820.

Will & Testament in presence of us who attested
the same in her presence & in presence of each
other, the words a bed and furniture ______
devise to ERASTUS HAM _______ before signing.
