Wayne County, NC - Will of Elizabeth Hastings, 1852 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Will of Elizabeth Hastings Wayne County 1852 State of North Carolina, Wayne County, In the name of God, Amen, I Elizabeth Hastings (widow of Joshua Hastings) calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form as follows First I forward my soul unto the hands of Almighty God who gave it and my body to the earth to be digantly intered and as for what worldly estate it hath please God of gifts bless me with I give and dispose of as follows (viz) First I give to my daughter Emillia Hastings all the land deeded to me by John Rose on the North Side of the Beaverdam Swamp joining the lands where I now live & Henry A. Daughtry Deaund, one bed and furniture one sow and piggs & thirty dollars in cash five barrels corne three hundred pounds of pork & bacon 2nd I give to my daughter Charlotte Finlayson thirty dollars in cash 3rd My will is that all the balance of my property that is not willed away be sold by my executors and the money arriving from the sale be equally divided after paying my just debts between my children namely Arthur Hasting Howell Hasting Emillia Hasting Wiley Hastings William Hastings Curtis Hastings Charlotte Finlayson Simpson Hastings & Hillory Hastings Lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my two sons William Hastings & Wiley Hastings Executors to this my Last will and testament this 5th day of February 1852 (Her Mark) Elizabeth Hastings Witness Sanders P Cox Needham Edwards (his Mark) ___________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
