Wayne County, NC - Will of Sarah Hill, 1831

     In the name of God Amen. I SARAH HILL do make this my last
will and testament.
I give to my son WEBB HILL my Negro woman Phebe, one horse,
saddle and bridle, one cow and calf, three fether (sic) beds and
furniture, all of my books two looking glasses, one couch, one 
safe, one boafat, half doz. chairs, one arm chair, one pare (sic)
of and Irons, one pare flat irons, one loom and gear, one spinnin
(sic) wheel, one flax wheel all my kitchen furniture and farming
tools of every description ___ doz. knives and forks 1/2 doz.
plates half doz. cups & saucers half doz. tea spoons two coffy
(sic) pots, one sythe blade & cradle, one flan hackel, ? one stone 
pitcher, one earthen pitcher, four jugs, four hogsheads, and all my 
barrels, I also give to him all the corn that shall be in my barn at my 
Decease and all the crop of corn & fodder should there be any growing 
also all my geese, and all of my stock of hogs. I also give to my son 
WEBB all the money that is coming from the Estate of Husband should
there be any. I also desire my son WEBB to pay all my Just debts.
I do give to my Daughter ELIZABETH LAWHORN one side saddle and bridle, 
one mantle, one black shawl one trunk of clothes (her sisters) one 
chest of clothing and one fether (sic) bed and furniture.
I give to my son ISAAC HILL one Fether (sic) Bed.
I do give to my son ISAAC & WEBB my crop of cotton to be 
equally divided between them.
I give to my son JOHN HILL all his crop of corn, cotton, wheat, &
potatoes, which he shall have growing on my land at my Death
free from any rent which he was to pay to me. I also have him
one Fether (sic) Bed.
I nominate and appoint JOHN JAS. HAMILTON Executor of this
my last Will and Testament publishing and confirming this to be
my last will and testament. In witness whereof I the said SALLY 
HILL have hereunto set my hand and seal the 12 th day of May
in the year of our Lord 1827
