I Joshua Hines being verry weake in boddy but of a perfect mind and memory thanks be to God for the same. Calling to mind the mortality of my boddy and knowing it is appointed once to die do make this may last well and testament in maner and form following to wit. First my will and desire is that all my just Debts be paid. Item I lend to my loving wife during her widowhood the plantation whereon I now live containing all the lands on the south side of the middle branch Item I give and bequeath to my wife two feather beds and furniture one mare all my sheep two cows and calves then head of her choice of hog and two sows and piggs one lareg pewter dish one large pewter basin two small ditto half a dozen pewter plates all the knifes and forks two iron pots and one dutch oven one frying pan and skillet six earthen plates six chaires one table one chest one cart two tubs and two pailes and bread try and sifter half the collen one woollen wheel and cards ten dollars in cash all my plows and hoes two _ _ _ one side saddle. Item I give and bequeath to my son Mathis Hines one hundred dollars Item I give and bequeath to my daugher Hannah Hines one hundred dollars I give and bequeath to my daughters Elizabeth Demaries Keziah Rebeccah and Margaret each on hundred dollars a piece I give and bequeath to my son John Hines two hundred acres of my land to be taken of of the upper end of my plantation adjoining Ed Sassers Ezekael Hedgepeth land an Wm Roses lands to him and his heirs for ever. I give and bequeath to my son Christopher Hines all the rest of my lands and plantation to him and his heirs for ever and iff there is any thing left alter payng the fore names begasis my will is it be equally divided between my two youngest daughters, Rebkah and Margret Hines lastly I nominate and appoint my Friends Michajah Cox and John Kennedy my sole executor to this my last will and testament In witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal this 5th of November in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty two.
