Wayne County, NC - Will of William Hines, 1860 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Will of William Hines Wayne County 1860 In the name of God Amen. I William Hines of the County of Wayne and State of North Carolina being of sound mind and memory but considering the uncertainty of my earthly existence do make and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following - that is to say First that my executrix (herein after named) shall provide for my body a decent burial suitable to the wishes of my relations and friends and pay all funeral expenses together with my just debts howsoever and to whomsoever owing out of the moneys that may first come into his hands as a part or parcel of my estate I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Elizabeth Hines all my lands and the improvements thereon to have and to hold during her natural life and after her death to equally divided between my three sons Samuel Hines Joel Hines and Allen Hines and also I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Elizabeth Hines my Negroes Slaves Daniel and Dennis to have and to hold during her natural life and after her death to be sold and the proceeds arising therefrom to be equally divided between my three daughters Polly Hines Sally Elizabeth Hines and Ursula Hines I give and bequeath to my three sons now in the State of Tennessee William Grady Hines Dossey Hines and Chancy Hines the sum of ten dollars each I further give and bequeath to my six children Samuel Hines Joel Hines Allen Hines Polly Hines Sally Elizabeth Hines and Ursula Hines one bed and furniture each. And lastly I do hereby appoint my wife Elizabeth Hines my lawful executrix to all intents and meaning of the same and every part and clause thereof hereby revoking and declaring uterly void all other wills and testaments by me heretofore made In witness whereof I the said William Hines do hereunto set my hand and seal this the 10th day of January 1859 William Hines Signed sealed Published and declared by the said William Hines to be his last will and testament in the presents of us who at his request and in his presents do subscribe our names as witnesses thereto James M.
