Jernigan, Lydda 1797 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- Lydia Jernigan Will Prd Jany Term 1798 [Backside of will] In The Name of god amen. I Lydda Jernigan of the County of Wayne and in the Sate of North Carolina, being now sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and, Memory at Present thanks be given to god for the Same, and Calling unto mind the Mortality of my body and knowing that It is appointed for all person once to die, do make and ordain this my Last will and testament in Manner and form following, [one word unreadable] First of All I recommend my Soul into the Hand of Almighty god that gave Ii me, and as for my body to be buried in a Christian Like desent manner at the discretion of my Executors Hereforth Named Item. I give and bequeath unto my well beloved Son George Jernigan one Sow & Seven [one word unreadable] runs in the Pond & [one word unreadable] head of sheep and one large Pewter Dish Item I give unto my well beloved grandson Richard Jernigan on red cow & calf Item I give and bequeath unto my well beloved Daughter Zilpah Jernigan one Sorrel mare one loom & gears there to belonging one Pewtor dish the Small Pott the smoothing Irons Ten Barrels of corn Six Head of Hogs one white cow & calf & one linen wheal and all my cloth that is now [one word unreadable] wove and all the spare trunks Item I give and bequeath unto my well beloved grand Daughter Privey Jernigan one bed [three words unreadable]five head of hogs to be made use of for the such [several words unreadable] the Family Three Barrels of Corn [several words unreadable] Item I give and bequeath unto my beloved grand Daughter Sarah Jernigan Daughter of Arthur Jernigan and Nancy his wife one bed and furniture and one linen wheal that [several words unreadable] Item I give and bequeath unto my beloved grand children sons & daughters of Arthur Jernigan dest Ten shillings Item I give and bequeath unto my beloved Daughter Mary Jernigan wife of Josiah Jernigan on Shilling Item I also give unto my beloved daughter Elizabeth Jernigan wife of Kader Jernigan one Shilling and Four head of sheep and one skillet Item I also give unto my beloved son Frederick Jernigan one Shilling Item I also give unto my beloved son Mills Jernigan one Shilling Item I Also give unto my beloved son William Jernigan one Shilling Item I give unto my beloved Daughter in Law Winnefred Jernigan wife of Arthur Jernigan dest on shilling Item.
