Wayne County, NC - Will of John J. Johnson, 1877 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ February 24th, 1876 State of North Carolina Wayne County I, JOHN J. JOHNSON, of the above named state and county, being of sound and disposing mind and memory make and publish this as my last will and testament to wit: ITEM 1 I will and devise to my beloved wife SYNTHA during her natural life or widowhood all of my personal property, consisting of all my stock, farming implements, household and kitchen furniture, and all other things not herein mentioned. ITEM 2 I devise and give to my beloved wife SYNTHA during her natural life or widowhood all my real estate, consisting of (102) one hundred and two acres of land. ITEM 3 At the death of my beloved wife SYNTHA, I devise and give to my grand daughter HENRY ETTA JOHNSON, an __________ child of my deceased daughter WESLEY, all of my stock of cattle, my clock and one bed and furniture. ITEM 4 It is my will and desire that my grand daughter HENRY ETTA JOHNSON the __________ child of my deceased daughter WESLEY JOHNSON shall be an equal heir, and share and share alike with my other heirs, HENRY W. JOHNSON and LOVEY JOHNSON now NEWSOM in all of my real estate and also in all the moneys arising from the sale of all property after the death of my beloved wife SYNTHA. That is if any should be left after the payment of all just debts. Now to this my last will and testament I make and appoint my son HENRY W.
