Wayne County, NC - Will of Everett Joyner, 1901 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ State of North Carolina Wayne County I EVERETT JOYNER of the aforesaid County and State, being of sound mind, but considering the uncertainty of my earthly existence do make and declare this my last will and testament. 1st I give and devise to my three sons GEORGE, IRA and URIAH the home tract of land on which I now live. GEORGE to have on the east side. URIAH the House part and IRA on the west side, as I have por- tioned it off, to them and their heirs in fee simple, subject to the life estate of myself and wife in said land. 2nd I give and devise to my two sons MOSES and JOHN and three daughters SUSAN, FANNIE and JENNIE the tract of land on Falling Creek to be divided equally between them to have and to hold to them and their heirs in fee simple. 3rd I give and bequeath to my son URIAH one horse to be paid for by GEORGE and IRA out of their portion to make him equal, if not provided before my demise. 4th I give and bequeath to my Grand daughter KATIE BRITT one Bed and furniture and twenty dollars in money to be paid by my three sons GEORGE, IRA and URIAH, I also give her one Bureau. 5th My will and desire is that my son JOHN and his heirs shall pay to FANNY $30 and that MOSES and JENNIE shall pay to SUSAN $30 each to make her equal with them. 6th I give and bequeath to my youngest son URIAH my cattle, hogs and provisions on hand at my decease. 7th I hereby constitute and appoint my son IRA my lawful executor to all intents and purposes, to execute this my last will and testament, accord-ing to the true intent and meaning of the same, and every part and clause thereof, hereby revoking and declaring utterly void all other wills and test-aments by me heretofore made.
