Wayne County, NC - Will of Joseph Strauss, 1899 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Joseph Strauss’ Will Recorded in Book of Wills No. 2, Page 263 North Carolina: Wayne County: I, Joseph Strauss, of said County, being of sound mind and memory, revoking all others by me heretofore made, do make, declare, and publish this my last will and testament, in manner and form following, to wit: I. I direct my executor, hereinafter named, to pay all my just debts, to have me buried beside my wife, in Goldsboro, N.N., and to erect a monument over the graves of my wife and myself, in accordance with the directions I shall give to him for that purpose. II. All the rest and residue of my estate and property, I give, devise, and bequeath, in (cannot read) absolutely, to my three children, Joseph E. Strauss, of Lealman, in the State of Florida; Emma D. Martin, wife of J. M. Martin, of Jacksonville, in the State of Florida; and Josephine Street, wife of J. J. Street, of Goldsboro, N. C., to be equally divided between them, except my watch, which I give to my son. III. I hereby nominate and appoint I. F. Dortch executor of this will.
