Wayne County, NC - Will of NEEDHAM LAMM - 1844 Contributed to USGenWeb Archives by Hunter Ferrell Oct the 28th 1844 I Needham Lamm of the county of Wayne and state of North Carolina being of sound mind and memory but considering the uncertainty of my Earthly Existence do make and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say first - that my Executor (hereinafter named) shall provide for my body a decent burial suitable to the wishes of my relatives and friends, and pay all funeral Expenses, together with my just debts, howsoever and to whomsoever owing out of the money that may first come into his hands as part and parcel of my Estate Item I give and devise to my beloved wife Rebecca Lamm all my lands whereon I now live (Except fifty Acres which I bot of Elias Barnes) during her Natural lifetime or widowhood also one gray mare 15 years old also her choice cow and calf one choice sow and pigs six hundred wate of pork fifteen barrels corn for her years support and after her death or marriage as the case may be to Equally divided between my lawful heirs Item I give and devise to my neffew John Parrish fifty Acres of land which I Bot of Elias Barnes to have and to hold among his his and his heirs for Ever I also leave my wife Rebecca Lamm one feather bed bed stead and furniture and also her choice chest during her Natural life time or widowhood also her choice puter dish and her choice set of plates The balance of my property that I have not given away I leave to be sold and after paying my just debts I want the balance over if Any thing remains to go to the___of my sister Patiance Lamm during her Natural life and for her support as a means of keeping her off of ___and if any thing should reamin after her death be equally divided between my lawful Heirs as the above Last I leave my worthy friend Josiah Barnes Executor of this my last will and testament.
