Wayne County, NC - Will of Mary Langston, 1844 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In the name of God Amen I MARY LANGSTON of the County of Wayne and State of North Carolina being of sound disposing mind and memory, Blessed by God do this the 22nd day of March 1842 make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form as follows: FIRST: I give and bequeath unto my son ASA W LANGSTON one hundred and twenty-five dollars to him and his heirs and assigns forever. SECOND: I give and bequeath to my daughter LYDIA HOWELL one hundred and twenty-five dollars to her, her heirs and assigns forever. THIRD: I give and bequeath to my son GEORGE LANGSTON my two year old filly called _______ and twenty dollars in money to buy him a saddle and bridle to him and his heirs forever. FOURTH: I give to my niece SARAH WADKINS ten dollars to be paid by my executor when collected on the notes I have to her, her heirs and assigns forever. FIFTH: I leave all the rest of my property to be equally divided between my children Viz SARAH HOWELL, ASA W. LANGSTON, HENRY LANGSTON, IRA LANGSTON, POLLY PIKE, MARTHA VINSON, URIAH LANGSTON, LYDIA HOWELL, AND WRIGHT LANGSTON to them, their heirs and assigns. Lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my son IRA LANGSTON Executor to this my last will and testament utterly revoking all former wills by me made and ratifying and confirming this to be my only true last will and testament.
