Wayne County, NC - Will & Estate Records Will of William Lewis - 1909 North Carolina Wayne County I William Lewis of the aforesaid county and state being of sound mind and memory but considering the uncertainty of my earthly existence do make and declare this my last will and testament Item 1 My executor hereinafter named shall give my body a decent burial suitable to the wishes of my friends and relatives and pay all funeral expenses together with any just debts out of the first moneys which may come unto his hands belonging to my estate Item 2 I give bequeath and devise to my two youngest children, my beloved daughter Anna Lewis and my youngest son Marshall Haywood Lewis, the tract of land containing one hundred and fifty two and a half acres adjoining the lands of Dr JB Kenedy & others, the ___ my side to be divided as follows My beloved daughter Anna Lewis to have all the land on the north side of the plantation road this land I purchased from John A Lewis & wife and all land north of a straight line from where the road crooks to JM Kenedy ___ containing seventy six acres more or less My youngest son Marshall Haywood Lewis to have all the land on the south side of the plantation road and all the lands on the north side of said plantation I acquired by deed from John F Sutherland & wife containing seventy six acres more or less to have and to hold said land in fee simple Item 3 I give and devise to my five - Mollie Price, Ewena Blackman, Arthur Lewis, Anna Lewis and Marshall Haywood Lewis the residue of my estate to be divided equally deliver them to have and to hold in fee simple Item 4 I hereby constitute and appoint my trusty friend M E Cox my lawful executor to all intent and purposes to execute this my last will and testament according to the time remaining of the___ and every part and clause thereof hereby making and declaring utterly void all previous wills and testaments by me heretofore made In witness whereof I the said William Lewis do hereunto set my hand and seal this the 16th day of Decr 1909 Wm Lewis Signed sealed published and declared by the said William Lewis to be his last will and testament in the presence of us who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other do subscribe our names as witness thereto Witness J A Toler Hugh Humphrey ============================================================== USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
