Wayne County, NC - Will & Estate Records Will of Richard McKinne - 1800 April Court January the third Day One Thousand Eight Hundred I Richard McKinne of the County of Wayne in the State of North Carolina being in my sense in sound & perfect memory but being sick and remembering the mortality of my Body do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following Imprimis - I lend to my beloved wife Sarah the lands & mill I bought of John Case also the lands where Thomas Dunn lives known by the name of Mason place during her natural life and give & bequeath her forever the following Negroes to wit - Tom, Clo__ Nann & Fillis also my riding horse & sorrel mare also two thirds of all my perishable estate After the death of my wife I give & bequeath to my son Matthew his heirs and assigns forever the same lands I have lent her together with two Negroes named Linkhorn (missing line) manner five hundred dollars (missing line) To my son Richard his heirs and assigns forever the lands whereon he lives which I bought of John Oates also one tract I bought of Charles Hopton on the north side of the River opposite the landing also one other tract I bought of James Bradbury joining the land I bought of Oates also one other tract Patented by my father known by the name of Pocoason Survey that is to so much of it as his between Neuse Road & the River also in like manner one hundred acres of the Bonnet pond Survey to be laid of joining the lands I bought of Bradbury also one gray horse and mare also two Negroes named Jason & Hannah also four cows & calves fifty head of hogs also all the corn called his corn be it ___ more also one bed and furniture Item I give & bequeath to my sons John & Barnabas their heirs & assigns forever all the lands known by the name of the Roundabout Land joining the land I have given my son Richard also three Negroes known by the names of Jerry, Cuff & Bet also two mares called theirs to be divided between them when either of them shall marry or arrive to mature age Item I give & bequeath to my son Robert his heirs and assigns forever the lands whereon I now live together with two hundred & seventy acres I bought of Jesse Musgrave the south side of the Beaver Dam also one Negro called Daniel ___ my daughter ___ assigns forever the following Negroes to wit - Jim, Jo, Ben, Charity, Coney, Rose & Doreas & Dina & my will and desire further is after my just debts is paid & the Mill built the remainder of my daughters, Anny, Sally and Polly to be equally divided between them Item I give and bequeath to my brother William & son William his heirs and assigns forever all the land of the Pocoason Survey lying on the south side of Neuse Road Lastly that I do nominate and appoint my son Richard & John & son in law Joseph Everitt Excrs to this my last will in witness where of I have to these presents set my hand and affixed my seal the day & date within R McKinne {Seal} Signed Sealed and acknowledged in our presence John Kennedy ___ T McKinne My will and desire further is that my Excrs have full power to rent out my lands & hire out my Negores or otherwise to let them continue on this land which ever they think best Rd McKinne {Seal} Acknowledged in present of John Kennedy & Richard Wooten a codicil to my last will and testament John Kennedy Rd Wooten ============================================================== USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
