                  Will of William McKinne - 1793

In the name of God Amen I William McKinne of the County of Wayne and state 
of North Carolina being weak of body but, of sound and  present mind and 
memory do make and ordain this my last will and testament that is to say 

First  I give to my son Barnaby McKinne one track of land containing three 
hundred acres lying in Wayne County on the part between Walnut Creek and 
McGruns and also I give to my son Barnaby McKinne one Negro man named Readuk 
to him and his heirs for ever 

Second   I give to my daughters Amy Giles one Negro woman Ashbern one Negro 
boy Dred one boy Harry one girl Cloney and one Negro girl Phillis and one 
girl Luvey to her and her heirs for ever also I give to daughter Amy my 
Riding Chis and one Copper Teakettel 

Third   I give to my grandsons Matthew McKinne and my grandson Michal 
McKinne one tract of land on Falling Creek the part of the said pattent on 
the north side of the Beaver Dam swamp to my grandson Matthew McKinne and the 
part on the south side to my grandson Michal McKinne to them and their 
heirs for ever

Fourth  I give to my grand daughter Nancy Uzzell Childrens one Negro woman 
Rachel and her increase and one boy Ben one girl Phillis and one Benah to 
be equally divided among them share and share alike to them and their 
heirs for ever 

Fifth  I give to my grand son Bennett Blackman one Negro woman Hanah 
and his increase and one boy Willis and one Negro boy Harry to him and his 
heirs for ever 

Sixth   It is my will and desire that the remainder part of my estate 
that I have not given away as above should be sold by my Executors and 
not by the sheriff to pay my just debts and if any remain to be equally 
divided between the heirs of my son William McKinne my son Rich McKinne 
my son Barnaby McKinne my daughter Amy Giles and my daughter Nancy Goodman

Lastly  I do herby nominate appoint and ordain my son Rich McKinne and my 
son Barnaby McKinne my executors of this last will and testament revoking 
all former last wills or testaments by me made declaring this only to be 
my last will and testament

Witness my hand and seal this twenty sixth day of January one thousand 
seven hundred and ninety three
