Witness my hand and seal David McKinne. Test Matthew McKinne. 15 Jan 1800 - David McKinne Bond to be appointed Constable in Captain Rhodes District. February 1800 - To cash paid Negro Sterling $2 pounds. John McKinne. 23 Feb 1803 - John McKinne appointed Guardian to Polley McKinne. William McKinne appointed Guardian to William McKinne. 1803 November Court - Polley McKinne drew Darkes (Dorcas?) valued at 200 pounds; William McKinne drew Daniel and Charles valued at 150 pounds. 22 Nov 1804 - William McKinne appointed Guardian to Polley McKinne. Indenture made 5 Dec 1806 between William McKinne one of the executors of David McKinne dec'd of the one part and of the other parth witnesseth that whereas the said David McKinne dec'd made his last will and testament directing his executors to sell his real estate by which authority and for 716 pounds paid by John Cox, land in Wayne joining the lands of John Edwards adjacent to Long Marsh, Covington's corner containing 100 acres. One other tract containing 130 acres adjacent to Falling Creek, Little Marsh. Witnesses: Wm. Bennit and John Umphrey. Registered: May Court 1808. Wayne County, NC Register of Deeds; Bk 9, pg 43. 15 Feb 1813 - Charles Jinkins Administrator's bond for Polly McKinne's estate. 1813 February Term - Ordered that James Bradbury, Sampson Lane and Jesse Slocumb be a committee to settle the accts between William McKinne Guardian to the heirs of David McKinne dec'd and Charles Jinkins adm'r to the estate of Polly McKinne dec'd and of said orphans. 19 May 1813 - Charles Jinkins administrator of Polly McKinne dec'd daughter of David McKinne dec'd the just sum of 24 pounds 6 shillings and 8 pence and one farthing it being in full of his share of the money in the hands of the adm'r of said dec'd and also one Negro woman named Dorcas Valued at $300. Received the above by me in full for William McKinne minor of David McKinne dec'd. Wm McKinne Guardian. 19 May 1813 - In obedience to an order issued from Wayne County Court and directed to divide the Negroes belonging to Mary McKinne dec'd orphan of David McKinne dec'd amongst the lawful heirs and find as follows: No 1 Drawn by William McKinne Darkis $300 (Dorcas) No 2 Drawn by Polly Jinkins and her four children to Lydia, Rachel, Sam, Uriah and Dolly valued at $1,065. Also found in the hands of William McKinne Guardian to Mary Mckinne dec'd daughter of David McKinne dec'd 663 pounds 10 shillings and 2 pence which being divided into six equal parts leaves each heir 110 pounds 11 shillings and 8 pence one farthing which is submitted to your Worships. 1813 May Court - Polly McKinne orphan of David McKinne dec'd settlement. 17 May 1813 - An inventory of the estate of Polly McKinne dec'e taken and cash due from William McKinne former Guardian to said orphan 663 pounds 10 shillings and 2 pence also six Negroes to wit: Dorcas mother of five children, Lydia, Rachel, Sam, Rich and Dal. 19 Feb 1817 - William McKinne appointed Guardian to William McKinne orphan. 18 Feb 1824 - Michael McKinne appointed Guardian to William McKinne. ---- Last Will and Testament North Carolina Archives Written 25 Sep 1800 - Proved October Court 1800 In the name of God Amen I David McKinne of the state of North Carolina & County of Wayne Being of sound & perfect mind & memory blessed be God, do this 25th Day of September in the year of our Lord 1800 make and publish this my last Will & Testament in manner following (that is to say). First, I lend unto my beloved wife Polly McKinne the whole of my Negroes, Household and Kitchen furniture until she marrys, or my two children (Polly & William) arives to the age of twenty one years or marrys or until my wife marrys or during her natural life for the Benefit of her and my two children, namely Billy & Polly. Secondly, I give & bequeath to my beloved wife my one eyed mare by name Fly, and enough of my Estate taken by my executors to buy my wife a good reding chair and also one womans saddle. Thirdly, that the whole of my horses except the one willed away to be sold at six months Cridet by my executors to pay my just Debts also fifteen head of cattle and the whole of my Stock of Hogs and the whole of my crop of corn & Plantation tools if the Property which I leave to be sold at six months Cridet amount to more than a sufficient sum to pay my just debts the ballance of the money to be put out in Interest for the use of my children and my wife Polly McKinne. The whole of my land I wish to be sold at two years Cridet and the money to be put out on Interest for the use of my two children before mentioned and my wife Polly McKinne. My will is further that when my wife marrys and my two children comes of age or marrys then the whole of the property willed away and the money, that the money put out on Interest to be equally divided between my wife and two children by my executors hereafter named. I do hereby make and ordain my worthy friends John McKinne, Ezekiel Slocumb & William McKinne executors to this my last Will and Testament in witness whereof I the said David McKinne have here unto set my hand and affixed my seal the Day and year above Written.
