             Will of Sarah McKinne - November 1837

The tenth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight 
hundred thirty seven of Sarah McKinne of the county of Wayne and state 
of North Carolina Being of sound deposing mind and memory but 
remembering the mortality of my body do make and ordain this my last
will and testament in manner and form following

Item  I give or bequeath unto my grandchildren the children of my
son John McKinne one Negro girl named Harriet to them their heirs 
and assigns forever

Item  I give and bequeath unto my grand children the children of my 
son Robert McKinne the following named Negroes, Nar, Needham, Mary, 
Phebe, Louisa, Susan, Olif, Edniy, Anne, Nancy, Isabel, Jim, Penny, 
Jinny, Michel, Missouria and George to be equally divided amongst 
them, to them their heir and assigns forever,  The above bequeath to 
my son Robert’s children to take affect from the day of the date of 
this my will

The balance of my estate I give and bequeath to my son Robert McKinne 
his heirs and assigns forever  Lastly I do nominate constitute and 
appoint my granddaughter Madddlin R McKinne whole and sole executrix 
to my will  In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal 
the day and date first above written, signed, sealed, and acknowledg 
in the presence of

Wayne County November Term 1837

There was the within will of Sarah McKinne produced in open court and 
offered for probate and duly proved in open court by the oaths of Talton 
Thompson a subscribing witness & let it be recorded and at the same time 
Madolina McKinne executrix therein name appears in open court and qualified 
as executrix letters testamentory issue
