Wayne County, NC - Will of Jethro Howell ----¤¤¤---- In the name of God Amen I JETHRO HOWELL of the state of North Carolina Wayne County being in a ____ state of health but of sound mind and memory do make ____ and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form to wit Item 1st I lend to my beloved wife CHELLY HOWELL ________ her natural one third part of my lands Item 2nd I also lend my wife one Negro Boy by the name of DAVID during her widowhood Item 3rd I give and bequeth to my beloved wife CHELLY one Sorrell mare one ____ Choice one bed and its furniture her choice two sows and pigs her choice one chest her choice one ____ and its furniture all of my kitchen furniture thirty barrells of corn one _____ of fadder one hundred weight of lard all the wheat I have on hand one hundred weight seeded cotton three blade stacks her choice Item 4th I give and bequeth to my daughter SALLEY JANE HOWELL all of my lands and one Negro named DAVID after the widowhood of my wife one feather bed and furniture Item 5th I give and bequeth to my beloved wife CHELLEY HOWELL all my farming tools and plow gear Item 6th It is my will and desire that my Negro man ALLEN should be sold and all my property that I have not given away should be sold by my executors on a 6 months credit and after all my debts are paid if there is any remainder I give it to my daughter SALLEY JANE HOWELL Item I hereby nominate and appoint my friend JONATHAN PIKE sole executor to this my last will and testament in Witness I have set my hand and seal December the 30th 1825 __________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
