Wayne County, NC - Will of Rebecca Parks, 1888 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In the name of God, Amen. I REBECCA PARKS of the County of Wayne and state of North Carolina being of sound mind and memory, and considering the uncertainty of this life, do make and declare this my last WILL and TESTAMENT. That is to say; I give, bequeath and dispose of my Personal Property, as follows; to-wit: 1st To my beloved Son AARON PARKS I give one high Curtained Bed- Stead and the Bed thereon also four sheets and three Blankets the furniture of said Bed, also one clothes Press, One Folding Table, Six Chairs, One half of earthen ware. Further. I give to my son AARON one note for the sum of Two Hundred Dollars to defray all my Burial expenses. 2nd I give to my beloved Daughter EMILY WORRELL one Bureau, One half of my Earthen ware Five Chairs, One Folding Blk. Walnut Table Two Blankets and two sheets, One Tray, One Half of a note against BERRY A. PARKS for one Hundred and Twenty Five Dollars 3rd I give to my Beloved Daughter HARRIET ROUSE, One Bed and Stead, Six Sheets, Three Blankets, The Furniture of Bed, Two Bed Quilts, also one half of a note against B.A. PARKS for One Hundred and Twenty Five Dollars. 4th I give to my Faithful old Servt. CHANA, One Bed and Stead, 2 sheets and 2 Blankets and Pillows belonging to it, as a part of my esteem for her Faithful Services.
