State of North Carolina Wayne County

     In the name of God amen
     I Daniel Pate being sick but of a sound mind and memory praise God 
for the same and what worldly estate God has blessed me with. 
     Item  I lend to my loving wife Mary Pate my plantation during her 
widowhood and also a childs part of all my estate.
     Item  I give and bequeath to my two sons Charles Pate and Thomas 
Pate my plantation to be equally divided between them.
     Item  I give and bequeath to my daughter Pearcey Pate equal share 
of all the rest of my estate. And lastly I do hereby constitute and 
appoint James Pate and my wife Mary Pate my whole and sole executors of 
this my last will and testament and I do hereby revoke disannull and 
make void all former wills and testaments heretofore made by me in 
witness thereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 26th day of 
June 1791.
