I Shadrack Pate Sr. be of Sound and perfect mind and memory blessed be god but being old and not only So but being in a very Low state of helth at this Time and furthermore noing that it appointed for all men to Die--think it proper to this 24th Day of March in the year of our Lord--1837--to make and publish this my Last will and Testament in manner following that is to say Item--first I lend to my beloved wife Dicy Pate and my Daughter Selah Pate five acres of Land round the houses Concluding in their natural life time after their Death. Item--I give to my Son Shadrack Pate all my Land that I hant Deeded away. Item--I give my Daughter Selah Pate Twenty Dollars in Cash. Item--I give to my Son Shadrack Pate one gray mare after my Deth. Item--I give Dicy Fillips five Shillings. Item--I give to my wife Dicy Pate one bed and bed stid and furniture. Item--I give to my Daughter Selah Pate one bed and bed stid and furniture and all my household and Chicking furniture. Item--I give fifteen head of hogs and three head of Cattle to Christo Pate Penelipy Pate Rebecca Wright and Mary Roberson. Item--I give to Selah Pate all my Stock of bees.
