Pate, Jr. WILL OF NANCY PATE (1894) OF WAYNE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA apparently the wife of Willoughby Pate State of North Carolina Wayne County I Nancy Pate of Wayne County and State of North Carolina being of sound mind and memory but considering the uncertainty of my earthly existence do make this my last will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say Item 1st, That my Executor named hereafter shall provide for my body a decent burial suitable to the wishes of my relations and friends and pay the expenses for the same together with all my just debts owing to whomsoever out of teh meoneys that may first come into his hands as part of my estate. Item 2nd, I give and bequeath to my oldest son Wedel [sic] Pate one feather bed bedstead known as my bed with pillars bolster sheets quills blankets belonging to said bed at his disposal absolutely forever. Item 3rd, I give to my two grand daughters (viz) Ine Pernetta Howell & Eva M. Holland five dollars a piece to their only rise and behalf . Item 4th, I give and bequeath to my sons Martin and Mark Pate the ballance [sic] of my personal property consisting of household & kitchen furniture farming utensils corn fodder money notes and every thing belonging to me after complying with the before bequest to be equally divided between the afforesaid Martin and Mark Pate their ownly use and [illegible] forever. Item 5th, and lastly, I appoint my son Mark Pate as my sole executor to my last will and Testament to execute to the intent of the meaning and that all other wills before this to be null and void. In witness whereof the said Nancy Pate have hereinto set her hand and seal this January 10th 1894.
