Wayne County, NC - Will of Willis Peelle Sr., 1833 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In the name of God Amen I WILLIS PEELLE Sr. of Wayne County and State of North Carolina being of Sound and perfect Mind and Memory Blessed be God for the Same do this first day of February In the year of our Lord one thousand Eight Hundred and thirty Two do Make and publish this My Last Will and Testament In the form following FIRST, I give unto My Beloved Wife MARY PEELLE Two feather beds and furniture one wooling wheel one Linnen wheel Two pair of cards one Table Two Chests and all my Seting Chairs and all the Kitchen furniture Two Horses of her Choice one bridle and Saddle, Six head of Cattle, Ten head of Sheep, fifteen head of Stock hogs, and fifteen head of Geese, and all My Crop as it Stands Either In the House or out Except the Cotton and as Much pork or bacon as My Executor may think proper for one years provision for the family, also I Lend unto My beloved Wife during her Widow hood the Land that I allot for My three Sons OWEN, ROBERT and BRYAN PEELLE, the Land to be Tended one half one year and the other half the next also one Cart and Wheels and the Gear belonging thereto and all My farming Tools and all the poultry. SECOND, I give unto My Son JOHN PEELLE all the Land Which I allotted for him Bounded as follows (gives description, mentions the Mill that belongs to the heirs of Joab Newsom) THIRD, I also Give unto My three youngest Sons OWEN, ROBERT and BRYAN PEELLE, all the Land which Lies Between the Land that I give to My Son JOHN PEELLE and the Land that I Sold to HENRY DAVIS to be divided as My Executor May think proper at the death or Marriage of My wife, My Desire is that My four Sons To wit, JOHN, OWEN, ROBERT and BRYAN PEELLE, Should have privilege of Rail Timber In the piney woods on the Land that I have Willed away. FOURTH, I Give to My Grand daughter HARRIET PEELLE one Cow or hiefer one feather bed and furniture FIFTH, I give to My daughter MILDRED PEELE one feather bed and furniture, also one note upon HENRY DAVIS for one Hundred dollars to be put out upon Interest When on the Mand (could be on demand), until She arrives to the age of nineteen, the Same to be in the Care of My Executor to be paid to her at the age of nineteen years. My desire is that the feather Beds that I have given to HARRIET and MILDRED, To remain in the hands of My Wife until they are neaded. My will and desire is that all My property not given away Should Be Sold at my Death To the highest bidder By My Executor and after My Just Debts are paid the balance to be Equally Divided Between My four Daughters PENNINAH PIKE, CHRISTIAN PIKE, SALLEY COLEMAN and PHARABY COLEMAN. I hereby Make and ordain My Son WILLIS PEELLE JR. Executor to this My Last Will and Testament.
