Wayne County
   I BENJAMIN SAULS of the County of Wayne and State of North Carolina being 
of sound mind and memory, but considering the uncertainty of my worldly 
existance do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and 
form following that is to say:
   First, that my executrix herein after named shall provide for my body a 
decent burial suitable to the wishes of my relations and friends and pay all 
funeral expenses together with my just debts whatsoever, and to whomsoever 
owing out of the money that may first come into her hands as a part or parcel 
of my estate.
Item   I lend unto my beloved wife MARY SAULS during her lifetime all the 
land I own also I lend unto her all other property of every deswcription and 
all the money that I may have at my death during her life time and after the 
death of my wife I give and devise to my son BENJAMIN W. SAULS ten acres of 
land where my house is so no to include ten acres up and down the road and 
all other property and money that may be on hand at the death of my wife 
except the land which I hereafter give to my two daughters to have and to 
hold to him and his heirs in for  ___ forever.
Item   After the death of my wife I give and devise to my two daughters NANCY 
A. HOWELL and MARY E. ROBERTS all the land I have not already given away to 
be equally divided between them to have and to hold by them and their heirs 
in for ___ forever. 
   And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my beloved wife my lawful 
executrix to all intents and purposes to execute this my last will and 
testament according to the true intent and meaning of the same and every ___ 
and of ___ thereof, hereby revoking and declaring _____ all other wills and 
testaments by me heretofore made..
   In witness whereof I the said BENJAMIN SAULS do hereunto set my hand and 
seal.
This the 5 day of May  AD 1883
