I James Shadding being very sick and weak in body but of of perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God calling unto mind the mo mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament that is to say principally an and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hand of almighty God th that gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in decent Ch Christian burial at the discretion of my executors nothing doubting but at the ge general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God an and as touching such worldly estate wherewith it has pleased to bless me in th this life I give and dispose of the same in the following manner and form First I lend unto my beloved wife Patty Shadding all my land and the whole of the rest of my property during her natural life, widowhood and after her death or widowhood I give and bequeath unto my beloved son Henry Shadding all the land I bought of William Bell Senr and William Howell lying in the Beverdam and on the South side of the new road containing one hundred and eighty acres more or less also I give and bequeath unto my beloved sons William Shadding James Shadding and Moring Shadding the plantation whereon I now live and the land I purchased of William Howell on Norhunta Marsh containing in the whole five hundred and seventy five acres to be eaqually divided amongst them and Wm, James and Moring Shadding. Also I give and bequeath unto my beloved son John Shadding one Negroe man by the name of Will, also I give and bequeath unto my beloved daughter Nancy Shadding Shadding one Negroe man named George and I do appoint my beloved wife and Henry Moring Senr the sole Executors of this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby utterly disallow and disannul all and every other former testaments wills legacies bequests and Exrs by me in anywise before named willed and be bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Te Testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 26th day Ma March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and five.
