Wayne County, NC - Will & Estate Records File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Meredith Clapper In the name of God, Amen- I, Simon Peacock Senr of the County of Wayne and State of North Carolina Being weak in body but of a sound and disposing memory of mind thanks be to god do this 30th day of 9th Month in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight Hundred and Thirty one make and publish this to be my Last will and Testament in manner and form following (viz) 1st Item I give and bequeath unto my Beloved wife Zilpah Peacock the whole of my Reserves in the Land on Both sides of Peacock Branch during her natural life and after the death of my wife my will is for all my Land on the East side of Peacock's Branch to be sold and equally divided Between Stephen Peacok's heirs agreeable as his will directs. I lend to Micael Peacock fifty acres of Land where he now lives during his mother's natural life in the same maner he has had it heretofore. Item I leave the whole of my other property to be sold and my Just debts paid and the residue to be equally divided between my three Daughters namely Patience Damaris and Zilpah, and lastly I hereby constitute and appoint my two sons Raiford Peacock and Simon Peacock executors to this my Last will and testament Signed sealed published and declared in the presence of us by the said Simon Peacock the Testator as his last will and Testament who were present at the time of signing and sealing hereoff the Day and year above written.
