Wayne County, NC - Will of Prier Smith, 1857 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In the name of God amen I PRIER SMITH in the county of wayne and State of North Carolina being of sound mind and memory and considering the uncertainty of this frail and transitory life do make publish and declare this to be my last will and testament in manner and form following First After all my lawful debts are paid and discharged I give and bequeath all my estate that I may have at the time of my death both real and personal to my Daughter JANE BENTON Likewise I make constitute and appoint JOHN W. BRITT Executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this the twenty fifth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty five PRIER (X) SMITH Seal The above written instrument was subscribed by the said Prier Smith in the presents of us and acknowledged by her to be her last will and testament Subscribing witnesses THOMAS (X) SMITH HENRY E.
