Wayne County, NC - Will of Mack Williams, 1869 ~~~~~~~~~~ Wayne County, NC, Will Book 1, pg 1, File 712 In the name of God, Amen. I, Mack Williams, of the County of Wayne and State of North Carolina, being of sound mind and memory, and considering the uncertainty of this frail and transitory life, do therefore make, ordain, publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament: That is to say, First, after all my lawful debts are paid and discharged, the residue of my estate real and personal, I give, bequeath, and dispose of as follows : to wit. I give and bequeath as follows: to my daughter Mary Price, one tract of land, known as the Jack Whitfield land, also, a portion of a tract known as the Marshall Kornegay lands, lying on the south side of Marsh Branch, and supposed to contain about thirty five acres. To my daughter Julia Smith, one tract of land lying on the north side of White Hall Road and on the west side of the Ave to the Jack Kornegay barn, thence with a ditch to Jack Whitfield's line, thence a direct course to Marsh Branch, Mary Price's line, and supposed to contain about 250 acres. The balance of my lands of which lies within the County and State aforesaid, containing about 700 acres, I give and bequeath to my five remaining children, viz: Rebecca, Edith Anne, Elizabeth, George W., and Jesse P. Williams, to be equally divided among them. Also, I give and bequeath the estate of my son, Major Williams, deceased, which by law is now due to me, to my three surviving sons, viz., Charles, George W. and Jesse P. Williams to be equally divided among them. As to my personal estate, I give and bequeath as follows: to my daughter Jennette Kornegay, $25 and what I have here-to-fore given her; and to my daughter Harriett Colvin, I give $600, and it is furthermore my will and testament that should there be any money on hand at my decease, not above mentioned, that it be equally divided among my six children as follows: Charles, Rebecca, Edith Anne, Elizabeth, George W. and Jesse P. Williams; and also, all other property that may be on hand at the decease of their mother, should she be my survivor, among the last six mentioned children. Likewise, I make, constitute, and appoint my son, Charles Williams, to be Executor of this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In witness whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal this the 30th day of June 1865. Mc Williams {Seal} Attest: Williams Vernon Acknowledge: Benjamin F.
