I Ethd. Yelverton [Etheldred Yelverton] of the County of Wayne and State of No. Carolina Being of perfect mind and memory and Calling to mind the mortality of my Body and knowing that all men must Die, do this fourth day of September in the year of our lord one thousand Eight hundred & forty nine make this my Last Will and testament in manner and form as follows Vilz. first I Recommend my Soul into the hands of God who Give it and my body to the ground to be buried in a Christian like manner and as touching Such worldly Estate as it hath pleased god to bless me with I Despose of in the following manner and form to wit Item I wish all my Just Debts paid out of my Estate By my Executors Item I lend my wife Polly Yelverton the whole of my Estate Lands negroes, Stocks Houshold and kitchen furniture and property of Every kind or Description whatsoever, During her nattural life and at and Immediately after her death to be Divided as follows Vilz ---------- Item I give all the land that I now own to my five youngest Sons to wit Hyman John Samuel Robert & Ethd. [Etheldred] To be Equally Divided after Samuels paying the other four one Hundred Dollars Item I give my Daughter Polloy one negroe Boy Moses one bed Bedstead and furniture Item I give my Daughter Drusilla one negro boy John one bed Bedstead & furniture Item I give my Buggy to my two Daughters Polly & Drusilla Item I wish Abram Sold and the money arising from the Sale put to the use of Defraying Expence or in plainer words to the Estate Turn over [next page] Item And the Ballance of my negroes I Desire to be Equally Divided between my four Daughters to wit Winniford Davis Nancy Davis Polly Yelverton & Drusilla Yelverton The balance of my property I wish Sold by my Executors and the profits arriving Equally Divided among all my Children Share & Share a like And Lastly I nominate and appoint my two Sons Hardy Yelverton and John Yelverton my whole and Sole Executors to this my last will and testament in witness Whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and affixed my Seal the day and date first above Written John Land Eth Yelverton {Seal} Ethd.
