All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Beverly Watson http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00029.html#0007196 January 26, 2013, 10:15 pm Written: August 9, 1787 Wilkes County, North Carolina Deed Book A-1, p. 197, Grant #752 To all to whom these presents shall come, Greeting Know ye that we for and in consideration of the Sum of Fifty Shillings for every hundred acres hereby granted paid unto our treasury By Benjamine Morgan have given and granted and by these presents do give and grant unto the Said Benjamine Morgan a Tract of Land containing One hundred acres lying and being in our County of Wilkes BEGINNING at an oak Standing on the west fork of Grambling and on the West side of the peach bottom Mountain running west one hundred and twenty Six poles to two chestnuts then North one hundred and twenty six poles to a chestnut then East one hundred and twenty six poles to a White oak then South one hundred and twenty Six poles to the beginning, As by the plat hereunto annexed doth appear together with all woods waters mines minerals hererditaments and appurtenances To Hold to the Said Land belonging or appertaining to hold to the Said Benj. Morgan his heirs and assigns for ever yielding and paying to us such Sums of money yearly or otherwise as our general assembly from time to time may direct provided always that the Said Benj. Morgan Shall cause this grant to be Registered in the Registers Office of our Said County of Wilkes in twelve months from the date hereof otherwise the same shall be void and of no effect. In testimony whereof we have caused these our letters to be made patent and our great seal to be hereunto affixed Witness Richard Caswell Esquire our Governor Captain general and commander in chief at Kingston the Ninth day of August in the 12th year of our Independence A D 1787 By his Excellys Comr.
