Fatal Accident in Wilkes

Elkin, August 30 - A fatal accident occurred at Trap Hill, 14 miles from here 
yesterday. Mrs. Bettie Holbrook and son were returning from Trap Hill when the 
oxen, which they were driving, became unmanageable and dashed off at a rapid 
rate throwing the occupants out of the wagon. The wagon passed over Mrs. 
Holbrook and she was so badly injured that she died soon after being carried 
home. The boy escaped unhurt.
