June 13, 1839   Charlotte Journal
   -- DEATH OF A PATRIARCH! -- We learn verbally, that the venerable GENERAL 
LENOIR, of Wilkes County, died at his residence in that County, a few days 
since, in the 89th year of his age. As a soldier of the Revolution, he was 
connected with some of the most prominent events of our struggle for freedom, 
whilst as a citizen, he has always sustained the highest consideration.
