Written: October 29, 1792 Recorded: April 23, 1793 In The Name of God amen, I David Hix of Washinton County & State of North Carolia Being Weak in Body But of Sound Mind and Memory and knowing it is appointed of God once for all men to die, I therefore Constitue and Ordain this my Las will and Testament in manner & form as follows, First and foremost I Recommend my Soul unto God that Gave it hopeing to Receive the Same at the great Day of the Resurrection, Secondly I Request my Body to be Buried in a Decent Christian Like manner at the decrestion of my Executors hereafter Named thirdly I Request all my Lawfull Debts to be paid And as to my Worldly Estate wherewith it has pleas’d God to bless me, I will and Bequeath in the following manner I Will and Bequeath to my Son in law John Holsclaw Fifty Acres of Land Joining his tract whereon he now Lives but not to Cross the river I Will and Bequeath to my Son Samuel Hix Fifty Acres across The Lower End of my Land I Will & Bequeath the other two hundred Acres to be Equally Divided Between James Holsclaw David Hix Henry Hotely & William Asher, I Will and Bqeath all my moveable Property to my Grand Children to be Equally Divided that is Nancy And Thomas Asher, and to Sarah & milley Asher the Fatherless Chldren of my Daughter Sarah & Dinah & to be Delivered into The hands of James Holsclaw & Henry Hotely their Stepfathers Untill The sd Children Becomes age and I Constitue Benjamin Ward and Ezekiel Baird my Executors to this my Last will and testament.
