Starling Moore Will 1836   

                                            In the name of God, amen, I 
starling Moore of the county of Wilkes and state of North Carolina being of 
sound and perfect mind and memory blessed be God, do this the twentyeight of 
January one thousand and eighthundred and thirty six, make and publish this my 
last will and testament in manner following, that is to say this is my last 
will & testament.  First I want my wife Elizabeth Moore to have the right of 
my land during her widowhood. I wish my just debts to be paid out of my 
estate, then, I give and bequeath my land to my youngest son John Moore. I 
wish Daniel Moore to have the liberty of clearing and tending between the two 
branches where he has commenced .....(can't read).. rifle gun goes to my son 
John Moore. He is to have the of the mair with his mother until he raises him 
a colt. the balance of the livestock is for the use of my wife for her life 
term, then to be equally divided between my children, the farming tools 
together with my living to stay for the use of my wife her lifetime and I 
hereby make and ordain my worthy fr... Robert Moore, Jesse Moore, John Moore, 
executors of this my last will and testament in witness whereof I the said 
Starling Moore have to this my last will and testament and my hand and seal 
thd day and year above written.
