Wilkes County, NC - Will of Ann Wisdom, 1801 ~~~~~~~~~~ In the name of God amen. October 25 in the year of Our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine, I Ann Wisdom of the State of North Carolina and County of Wilkes ____ Being in a low state of health but in perfect mind and memory thanks be unto god for the same and calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of god that give it and concerning my body I recommend it to the earth to be buried at the discrition of my friends and as touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased god to bless me in this life I give, devise despose in manner and form following that is to say in the first place I give and bequeath to my son Thomas Wisdom and equal share of my estate and Ann Stone also in equal shear of my estate and Sary Rucker an equal shear of my estate also Bethey (or Bettey) Rucker and equal shear of my estate also Tabitha Sutten an equal shear of my estate also Clary Hardan an equal shear of my estate also Caley Buten an equal shear of my estate also Saley Wisdom and equal shear of my estate also one bead (sic) and furniture and all my waering aperil also Laruens (Laurence?) Bradly to have my son Joseph Wisdom shear which he has paid him for to my knowledge also John Wisdom to have five shillings also Mary Barries (or Burries) five shillings of my estate also Susanah Wisdom to have five shillings of my estate and Drusila Bradly's children to have her equal share divided amongh to and also Rachel Bradly's children to have her equal shear divided amongst them. Also Winey Bradly to have an equal shear of my estate an at her desese to be equally divided amongst her children. James Wisdom to have five shilling of my estate and also my will is that Sue and Ovey my not be parted and that sum of my childred would purchase them and I also do hereby utterly disallow revoke and dis annul all and every other form testament will and legacies and executors by me in any ways before this time named willed and bequeathed ratefied and comformed this and no other to be my last will and testament and also I do constate and appoint Luranse Bradly and Lucius? Cadlton (Carlton?) Esqur be the executors of this my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written.
