"Peace to his Ashes" Wily Stott died June 3, 1896 Godfrey Stott died May the 24th, 1928, at 5 p.m. Jim Woodward died Oct 26, 1929 Sat a.m. Mrs Poly Stott died June the 8th, 1889 Mr. Alsey Stott died May 25, 1885 Evie Gardner died July 1, 1898 William Varnell died July 1, 1898 Mary Ophelia Stott Oct 30, 1898 W.D. Furt died Aug 22, 1906 Note: Bill Furt was a Stott Family Friend. He resided with Mary Ann's family. Bill was from Richmond Virginia. He was pushed into an altercation with an influential man in Richmond, and during the altercation killed him. He knew he would be hung if he stayed in VA, so he came to NC and lived in Wilson County for the rest of his days. (Information from Varnell research - family story!) Bunyan Stott died Feb 14, Wed, 1923, Wed night 10:30 age 80, one month Mary A. Stott died Jan 21, 1929, Sun night two o'clock R.E. Stott died Jan 9, 1924 Mollie Varnell died Sept 6, 1925 D.W. Pender, Co A 55 Regiment, Davis Brigade, Ben Briggs, Captain, was wounded in the Battle of Gettysburg 1863 and again at Reams Station Va 1862." Note: W.E. Pender information was on a card that was left in the Bible. Note: The Stotts, Woodards, Penders and Varnell's were related. Mary Ann's sister Sallie married William Varnell. William's son Robert Varnell married his first cousin Mary Elizabeth "Mollie" Woodard, daughter of Mary Ann and Grey Woodard. Robert and Mollie's child, John Bunyan Varnell married Lucy Pender, daughter of W.E.
