Cook to Westley Swift Deed This Indenture made & entered into this the 29th day of April A. D. 1856 between A. J. Cook of the state of North Carolina & county of Wilson of the first part & Westley Swift of the state and county aforesaid of the second part, Witnesseth that for & in consideration of the sum of forty Dollars to him in hand paid by the said Westley Swift the receipt whereof is hereby fully acknowledged I the said A. J. Cook do bargain, sell & convey to the said Westley Swift his heirs & assigns a certain tract or piece of land lying & being in the county & state aforesaid & bounded as follows, beginning at a Sweet Gum at the road in Sheppards branch thence with said road west one hundred & thirty yards to a black oak thence south 60 yds. to a stake thence 70 yds. to a Black Gum in said Sheppards branch Thomas Mercers line thence up the said branch with the said Mercers line to the beginning containing one acre more or less with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging to have & to hold free & clear of all claims whatsoever & I the said A. J. Cook do warrant & defend the right & title to the said Westley his heirs & assigns forever the day & date above written signed sealed & delivered in presence of T. C.
