THIS DEED made this 20th day of Dec. 1906, by Robert Ethridge and wife Mollie Ethridge, the parties of the first part, to J. M. Burnett, J. T. Rentfrow and W. C. Boyett, trustees of Contentnea Primitive Baptist Church, the parties of the second part; WITNESSETH:- THAT THE said parties of the first part, in consideration of the sum of $15.00 in hand paid, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, have bargained, sold and conveyed and do by these presents bargain, sell and convey unto the said J. M. Burnett, J. T. Rentfrow and W. C. Boyette, trustees of the Primitive Baptist Church and their successors in office, that certain tract or lot of land lying and being situate in OLd Fields Township, Wilson County, North Carolina, adjoining the said Church lot and Robert Edthridge and described as follows; BEGINNING at a rock partly buried in the bakc line of said Church lot, thence at right angles with said Church lot line, in a southwesterly direction 25 yards, cornering, thence in a northeasterly direction parallel with the said Church lot line, 25 yards, cornering thence in a northwesterly direction parallel with the first line 25 yards to the said Church lot line, thence in a southwesterly direction with said Church lot line 25 yards to the beginning. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the above described tract or lot of land to them the said J. M. Burnett J. T. Rentfrow and W. C. Boyett trustees of Contentnea Primitive Baptist Church and their successors and assigns in fee simple. And the said Robert Edthridge covenants to and with the said parties of the second part, their successors and assigns, that he is the owner in fee and has the right to convey the above described lot of land in fee simple; that the same are free and clear of any and all incumbrances and that they will forever warrant and defend title to the same against the lawful claim or claims of any and all persons whomsoever. Kirby, a Justice of the Peace do hereby certify that Robert Edthridge and wife, Mollie Ethridge personally appeared before me this day and acknowledged the due execution of the foregoing Deed of Conveyance; and the said Mollie Ethridge being by me privately examined, separate and apart from her said husband, touching her voluntary execution of the same, doth state that she signed the same freely and voluntarily, without fear or compulsion of her said husband, or any other person, and that she doth still voluntarily assent thereto.
