Hocott To John Dew 100 acres for 100 dollars Deeds and Mortgages, Wilson County, Book 3, Page 123: (LDS Microfilm #0246540) This indenture made the 4th day of September A.D. Eighteen hundred Sixty Seven between Daniel Hocott of the first part and John Dew of the second part witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars to me in hand paid by the said John Dew I do hereby bargain sell and convey unto the said John Dew a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Wilson and State of North Carolina an bounded as follows, begining at John D. Adams line in Arnols Swamp. Thence with said line west to Simon Newsoms Line thence south with said Newsoms line to the corner thence East with Said Newsoms line to the said Arnols Swamp thence up said Swamp to the begining containing one hundred acres more or less to him the said John Dew his heirs and assigns forever. I the said Daniel Hocott do bind my self my heirs and assigns to warrent and defend the said title against the lawful claims of All persons unto the said J. Dew and his heirs forever.
