Mr D P Christman died on the 23rd instant, and was buried this evening. For
nearly thirty years he was policeman or street commissioner of Wilson. No man
has lived in this community - rich or poor - who had more sincere friends and
better still, who deserved them. He was of the bravest of the brave of those who
wore the grey; he was true to every trust, and none ever came to him in sorrow
or suffering, but that he found sympathetic interest and gentle consolation.
