Ruffin, of the county of Wilson and the state of North Carolina do this 15th day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty, being of sound disposing mind and memory make this and assign this my last will and testament. First, my will and desire is that all my just debts be paid out of my property. Second, I give unto my son, ROBERT RUFFIN, one Gray Mare and the young mule now in possession of Joseph PETWAY, either of which he may choose. Third, I lend all the remainder of my property ___________ __________ consisting of hogs, cattle, household and kitchen furniture together with all my Land and all my farming tools, cart, and cartwheels_________ unto my beloved wife, TREASY RUFFIN, during her natural life or widowhood and after her death all of the above named property loaned above, I give unto my son, ROBERT RUFFIN to him and his heirs, forever.
