Yancey County, NC - Abandoned Cemetery

ABANDONED  &  DESTROYED CEMETERY:  This area is located near the
top of Burleson Gap and described in 1939 – 40  Historical Records Survey of 
North Carolina by Joe W Letterman as # XLIII. TOWE CEMETERY.

Local information is that it was partially washed away, leaving large gullies that
had partially been filled in by the State Highway workers and further upon the hill 
someone had built a house and pushed more dirt into the washed out areas.
