Go about .4 miles. On right side of road on a ridge just behind the Bill Shepherd house. No headstones are visible (although, I can remember when there were stones there) there are field stones that marks some of the graves. Bill Shepherd told his daughter that he would rather have cattle graze on his grave than to have it grown up in briars, so he turned it into a cow pasture. I was told by Martha Lou Gibbs that her grandmother was buried here: (# 1) 1. Martha Edney Austin, 1843 - 1876, 1st wife of Cling Austin (Grave # 1, Clingman Austin Cem.) (She was the mother of Jobe, James, Lillie & Esther) 2. John W. Anglin, 12-12-1853 - 6-28-1856 3. Samuel E. Anglin, 10-07-1855 - 02-23-1863 4.Elizabeth Jane "Betsy" Anglin, 12-05-1857 (Yancey Co. funeral home records states 1859 - 1921) 5.William C. Anglin, 02-11-1860 - 12-24-1862 Note: #2 - 5 are children of Raburn and Catherine Edney Anglin (sister to #1) Martha and Catherine were daughters of Calvin & Lucinda Wilson Edney
