Yancey County, NC - Lee Allen Cemetery LEE ALLEN CEMETERY: At Cane River turn down 19W North and go about 1 mile, turn onto Whittington Road and then immediately onto the Monroe King Road and go about ¼ mile. Park at the two story house and go out thru garden to The left and look for an electric pole on the ridge. Located at that electric pole. Condition: Bad, grown up in multiflora roses. So far have only found fieldstones but said to be buried there: 1. David Lee Allen, 12-25-1848 – 4-27-1927, S/o Robert S. & Elizabeth Robinson Allen. 2. Elizabeth Allen, died 5-8-1922 at age 73 years, 1 month and 8 days.= (4-30-1849) D/o Robert & _____ McIntosh 3. Sarah Allen, d/o Lee and Elizabeth 4. Infant of Sarah Allen Possibly buried there: 5. Robert W. Allen, S/o Lee & Elizabeth 6. Rachel McIntosh, Sister of Elizabeth Allen 7. Nora B. Allen, Granddaughter of Lee & Elizabeth 8. Freddie L. Allen, Grandson of Lee & Elizabeth 9. Robert S. Allen, Father of Lee 10. Elizabeth Robinson Allen, W/o Robert Note: Death Certificate for Lee & Elizabeth Allen refers to the cemetery as Allen Yard. Barbara Riddle Cooper said when she was a little girl she could remember going there to play while her mother was milking the cow at the barn near by and that there were several graves surrounded by a wrought iron fence with a beautiful gate. ______________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
