YANCEY COUNTY, NC - CEMETERIES - Chrisawn Cemetery

NC 80, one mile south of Clear Creek Road on east side of highway just before 
reaching deepest curve.  Opposite phone pole numbered 283.  Overgrown road, 
follow around to right for about half mile to top of hill.  Few graves with 
formal headstones.  Most marked with rocks:  (This was surveyed April 30, 
1972)

 1.  Nancy Simmons - died April 14, 1868 (rest unreadable)
 2.  Safrona, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. J. T. Chrisawn- Age 14 months
 3.  L. C. Chrisawn, 4-12-1892 - 6-16-1933   
     (husband of Ameldia Effler Chrisawn)
 4.  Lyda Chrisawn, 5-31-1869 - 11-5-1916   
 5.  Dan Chrisawn, 7-17-1864 - died Aug. 1907
 6.  Eva Chrisawn, 11-25-1866 - 7-1-1954
 7.  Two marked with stones, but unreadable.
 8.  One Nichols Funeral Home, Marion, marker but no name 
     (may be Ruth Chrisawn, not sure.  She is definitely buried here.  Her 
     info:  Ruth Chrisawn born Nov. 27, 1924 and died March 1947). She was a 
     daughter of Ameldia Effler and L.C. (Lyda C.) Chrisawn.
 9.  Counted 34 unmarked
(This was from survey done on 4-30-1972)

(These were additional ones listed on the 1939-40 WPA Cemetery Survey and 
were probably unreadable when the last survey was done in 1972)

10.  L. Harrison, 3-9-1880 - 4-13-1880
11.  Margaret Harrison - Born 1862 - died 3-20-1880
12.  Nathan Harrison, 7-10-1878 - Impossible to read date of death 
     on gravestone.
