Yancey County, NC - Chrisawn Cemetery

CHRISAWN CEMETERY:  Located on South Toe River, between Clear 
Branch and Rock Creek Road. Going from Micaville, and almost a 
mile above Clear Branch there is a dirt road on the left, go a 
short distance and there is an older road that turns right up a 
steep incline.  Follow this road until it forks.  Go a short 
distance on the right hand branch and cemetery is in the edge of 
the road behind some trees with a path going to it.  
Condition:  Good, has recently been cleared of bushes.  

SURNAMES:  BYRD, CHRISAWN, HARRISON, SIMMONS

1.  Eva Chrisawn, Nov. 25, 1866 – July 1, 1954
2.  Dan Chrisawn, July 17, 1864 - August, 1907
3.  Lyda Chrissawn, May 31, 1869 – Nov. 5, 1916
4.  L. C. Chrisawn, April 12, 1892 – June 16, 1933 (H/o Ameldia 
    Effler Chrisawn)
5.  Jessie A. Byrd, 1846 – 1895 (Westmoreland Cem. (TN)  marker)
6.  Safrona Chrisawn D/o Mr. & Mrs. J. T. Chrisawn, Age 14 Months
7.  Funeral home marker from Nichols Funeral Home, Marion, NC but 
    name not readable.  Thought to be Ruth Chrisawn who is known to 
    be buried here  
    Her info:  Ruth Chrisawn, Nov. 27, 1924 – March 1947, D/o Ameldia 
    Effler and L. L. (Lyda C.) Chrisawn
      
These were listed on the 1939 – 40 WPA Historical Survey but were 
not found today.

9.  Margaret Harrison, 1862 -  March 20, 1880, 
10. Nathan Harrison, July 10, 1878 – impossible to read date of death.
11. Nancy Simmons, Died April 14, 1868 

In addition to these there was 33 graves marked with fieldstones
