YANCEY COUNTY

LEM GRIFFITH CEMETERY

LOCATION: At Green Mountain, take the Toe River Road towards Relief.  At 
Relief turn left into Bryant Branch Rd., not far from the bridge that goes 
into Mitchell County. You will see a large unpainted house on your left as 
you drive up this road.  The cemetery is out a grass road, on your right 
about 200 yards from the Toe River Road.  The access road will likely be 
chained; park off the road and walk about 100 yards to the cemetery.

ACCESSIBILITY: Moderately easy.  The access road is not steep but might 
be muddy.

CONDITION:   Poor.  The cemetery is possibly abandoned.  Many graves are 
seriously sunk in.
