Yancey County, NC - Unknown Infant Grave

UNKNOWN INFANT GRAVE (Possibly Price) Location:  From 19E, about 3 miles 
east of Burnsville turn onto Georges Fork Road and go to High Pastures; 
park here and follow the Red Trail to top of mountain, then follow ridge 
to the right and look for a white cross on the left side of the trail.

Condition:  Good

This little infant was buried here around the 1920’s and was cared for by
Tam Price until his death, then Garvil Honeycutt cared for it until his death.
Now his daughter, Mary Burnett, follows the Red Trail from the High Pastures
Retreat, approximately 1.1 mile, to the top of the mountain every year to place
flowers and care for this little grave.
