Randolph moved to this area with their families in 1919. They lived together in a house, that is still there, until John Will could build a house for himself and his family nearby. One day John Will was plowing corn on a hill near their home. He told his wife, Polly, that if they were still in this area when he died, this is where he wanted to be buried. In May of 1927 Ida Randolph, Wife of Samuel P. was the first to be buried there and four years late, John Will was buried on the hill he had chosen for his burial place years before. It was originally used as a family cemetery, but later an acre of land was deeded to Mt. Pleasant Church to be used as a church cemetery.
