Yancey County, NC - McCurry-Elwood Cemetery MCCURRY-ELWOOD CEMETERY: Directions: 3 miles west of Burnsville turn onto Jacks Creek Road. Go to and turn onto Patterson Branch Road go to where the McCurry Rd. turns to the left, the blue house in the fork of the road was where the McCurry's once lived. They are buried in the family plot on the hill just behind the house. There is a wooden cemetery sign with the name McCurry and Elwood.
