Yancey County, NC - Piercy Cemetery PIERCY CEMETERY: Location: About 4 miles west of Burnsville turn onto Prices Creek. Continue on up Horton Creek Road to Holcombe Branch. Go about ½ mile. Cemetery is on the right and is fenced and stands upon a steep hill surrounded by a pasture. Condition: Very badly grown up in bushes, weeds and briars SURNAMES: ANDERSON, HONEYCUTT, KING, MCINTOSH, PIERCY 1. Wm. E. (Ervin) Piercy, Died 7-18-1892, Age 71 Yrs. 10 Mo. 16 Ds. 2. Lockey (Horton) Piercy, Wife of Wm. E. Piercy, Died Oct. 2, 1889, Age 65 Yrs. 9 mos & 5 ds. 3. Dora Piercy, 9-19-1860 – 12-30-1891 (Wife of Wm. H. Piercy) Note: I did not find this stone, but it was recorded on the 1939-40 WPA Survey. Information from Mrs. Louise England states that the following are buried here: [William and Mary Jane were her grandparents] 4. William M. Anderson – Born April 1856 5. Mary Jane Piercy Anderson – Born Nov. 1859 6. Kate Anderson Honeycutt, 8-2-1884 – 1-12-1939, Daughter of William & Mary Jane Piercy, Wife of Jule Honeycutt. 7. May Anderson, Daughter of William and Mary Jane Piercy 8. Phillip King, 12-30-1943 – 1-14-1944. Infant son of Tarter and Hortense McIntosh King 9. Alice Jean McIntosh, 12-6-1923, Infant of Willard & Annie Anderson McIntosh Information from Clarence Blackstock: My late uncle, F. Piercy Carter of Asheville, told me that William and Lockey's son and daughter-in-law are buried here. 10. Robert Henry Piercy (Son of # 1 & 2) 11.
